LCH.Clearnet Group annual profit rises

LCH.Clearnet Group has reported a profit of EUR21.2m for the full year of 2011, compared to EUR19.1m for the same period in 2010.

Net revenue was EUR391.44m for the full year of 2011, compared to EUR355.61m for the same period a year ago.

Operating profit was EUR45.07m, compared to EUR43.54m for the same period in the previous year.

Revenue from clearing fees increased 16% to EUR236.7m, compared to EUR203.4m for the same period in the prior year.

Net investment income was EUR139.3m, compared to EUR115.6m for the same period in the last year.

LCH.Clearnet Group CEO Ian Axe said that they had a successful year in which underlying revenues were up 16% and underlying operating profit was up substantially by 81%. This is testimony to the strong growth in their core exchange clearing business as well as their fast growing OTC business.
